The makers of the upcoming movie Adipurush, which is based on the epic Ramayana, released a new poster of the film on Thursday to mark the occasion of Ram Navami.
Prabhas plays the lead role of Raghav in the movie, while Kriti Sanon portrays Janaki, Sunny Singh as Shesh, and Devdatta Nage as Bajrang. Saif Ali Khan, who plays the antagonist Lankesh, was not featured in the poster. Prabhas shared the poster on his social media account, accompanied by the caption “Your name is greater than all chants. Hail Lord Ram” and the hashtags #JaiShriRam and #RamNavmi.
The film, directed by Om Raut, is scheduled to release in IMAX and 3D on June 16 in theaters across India in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam. Last year, the movie’s CGI-heavy teaser was widely criticized, and VFX studio NY VFXwala issued a statement disassociating itself from the film. Adipurush is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Om Raut, Prasad Sutar, and Rajesh Nair of Retrophiles.
