Written and directed by Karthik Dandu, the film marks Sai Dharam Tej’s pan-India debut after a personal hiatus. The story of “Virupaksha” takes place in the village of Rudravanam, which is plagued by a malevolent force that kills its inhabitants mysteriously. The protagonist, a believer in science and logic, enters the village and falls in love with a woman. He decides to uncover the mystery of Rudravanam when the situation calls for it.
The film features Sunil, Sai Chand, Ajay, Soniya Singh, and Abhinav Gomatam in supporting roles. Bhogavalli Bapineedu and BVSS Prasad produced the movie in collaboration with Sukumar B under the Sri Venkateshwara Cine Chitra and Sukumar Writings banner. Shamdat served as the cinematographer, and Navin Nooli edited the film. Sukumar B wrote the screenplay, while B Ajaneesh Loknath, known for his work in “Kantara” and “Vikrant Rona,” composed the film’s music and background score.
The box office collection for “Virupaksha” has been impressive, with day one bringing in Rs. 7.4 crore, day two earning Rs. 9.15 crore, and day three earning Rs. 9.2 crore. The estimated earnings for day four are Rs. 4.50 crore, bringing the total box office collection for the first four days to Rs. 30.25 crore.
